staying warm and dry is the most important thing at Forest school. The right kit will free up your child to fully enjoy all aspects of their experience.

 Below is a list of advice for packing up for your children each morning. This will need to be worn to every session. If you would prefer not to buy new we fully support you sourcing the list second hand.

Please ensure your children come to forest school with... 

 

 

Essentials 

 

  • Named water bottle or flask ideally in a named backpack.

  • One complete change of clothing including socks and gloves.

  • Closed-toe boots and long sleeves and trousers.

  • Long-sleeved top.

  • waterproof dungarees.(Not lined)

 

In the winter.

 

  • Named water bottle or flask ideally in a named backpack.

  • One or Two complete changes of clothing including socks and gloves.

  • Thermal base layer –Leggings, long sleeve top, and long thermal socks 

  • A loose long sleeve top.

  • Warm fleeces/wool long sleeve tops

  • Cozy trousers i.e. tracksuit (NOT jeans)

  • Two or three pairs of gloves or mittens (one waterproof)

  • Warm hat and snood 

  • waterproof dungarees (lined)or snow trousers

  • Waterproof and warm coat

  • Warmer boots. Lined and waterproof. (Wellingtons can be cold so please double up socks underneath to keep toes toasty.)

 

In the Summer.

 

  • Named water bottle or flask ideally in a named backpack.
